A used engine for a BMW E60 or E61

Diesels

520d is a four-cylinder. 525d and 530d are M57 sixes. 535d is the twin-turbo M57. Touring and saloon share these families. None of them are the N57, which arrives with the next 5 Series.

BavarianEnginesStore.org shows the power and the code because a 177 hp M57 and a 535d are not the same crate.

Petrols

Six-cylinder petrols are N52 or N53, and the market decides which. 540i and 550i are N62 V8s. The M5 is the S85 V10. A 550i engine will not build an M5.

N53 cars are direct injection and need their injectors and pumps treated as part of the dress.

Fitment

Automatic gearboxes are the ZF 6HP family in several strengths. Name the car. xDrive E61 cars need the right sump. The touring is not a different engine code by itself.

Electric water pumps on the N52 need a proper bleed and a sound pump. Budget for that.

Checks

On the M57, turbo and swirl flaps. On the 535d, both turbos. On the N62, coolant leaks and valve-cover area. On the S85, rod bearings and the oil system if the history is track or missed services.

Up to 12 months on eligible internal failure after correct fitting.

Warranty

Eligible engines carry a warranty of up to 12 months after a correct installation by a workshop. The warranty covers eligible internal failure. It does not cover a mismatched fitment, a dry start, the wrong oil, or damage caused after the crate is opened.

Shipping

Crane crates from Hamburg is a flat 299,00 €. The engine is packed for freight and delivered to the address on the order. A forklift or an engine crane is required at delivery. The shipment is arranged to the destination the buyer provides.
